pattern tour + giveaway | bimaa sweater by emmyloubeedoo (closed)

I finally got a chance to try out the Bimaa Sweater pattern by Sarah of Emmyloubeedoo! Sarah invited me to be part of the pattern tour she put together and is also offering up a copy of the pattern to one of you! I've seen lots of these cute sweaters popping up in blogland and am glad to have this pattern in my collection. I made the cowl version this time but think I'll be making a hoodie version soon.

Things to know about this pattern
  • it includes 3 variations | shawl collar, hoodie, and cowl neck - which is what I made
  • it's a quick sew - the sleeve and waist bands means you get to skip hemming
  • includes sizes 12 mths - 6
  • you'll get a variety of looks depending on the fabric you choose

I wanted to make this in a sweater knit but ended up going with a gray dot knit fabric by Riley Blake. This fabric is super soft and is stretchy enough to work well with the slim fit of the Bimaa. I made a size  4T which is Syd's usual size and the overall fit is great. I really like the cowl - it's a fun detail and will help keep the kiddo warm in the colder months. I was worried at first that Syd might not be too keen on the idea of the cowl since she won't wear any of the cowls I've made her in the past but that was not the case with this sweater!

Sarah has just posted an adorable tutorial + template on her blog for adding ears to the hoodie version of the Bimaa. So cute!!!

  21. I actually already own this pattern and have made one, so if by chance the giveaway lands on my comment, pass it on to the next person.
I wanted to comment and tell you that the fabrics for both of the garments your girl are wearing are to DIE for. Did you make the leggings as well? The polka dots are so cute for the cowl neck. Ahh, darling all around. Beautiful.
