Off to a great start

Weekends aren't usually a big deal around here since I don't work outside of the home. Fridays tend not to be any different than Mondays. However, today is really feeling like a Friday so far! I'm finally getting to go to Ikea today and even better is that my mom will be joining me since she's here visiting. She's the one who introduced me to the wonder of Ikea over 20 years ago. Anywho, I randomly entered a sewing project contest on the Martha Stewart site some time ago. The prize for winning was a copy of her huge sewing encyclopedia. Well, I didn't win BUT I got an email this morning saying that the pouch I entered was one of the favorites and is being featured in the sewing projects area of the site! Kinda cool, huh? Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  5. Woohoo! That's so cool Vanessa! Congrats! (P.S. - I'm so jealous that you live near Ikea! I think the nearest one to us is 3 1/2 hours away . . . boo)

  6. That is awesome that you are featured on Martha Stewart! Way to go! I am jealous that you live near an ikea. We may get one in 2011; I am trying not to get my hopes up in case it doesn't happen. I picked up the Martha Stewart Book, which is awesome, at Costco for half price. There probably isn't a Costco near you, but if you have a friend who has a card, they have at least one in B'ham. Good luck fabric shopping tomorrow!

  8. Beautifully made! I really would love to get my hands on some linen fabric like yours! It seems to go with anything and looks fantastic. We don't have much in the way of fabric stores around here. The one we do have only sells Moda fabric.
