mother's day

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! I got to spend the day with two of my favorite girls - Syd and my mum who is here visiting for a few weeks. We went to our favorite outdoor mall and did lots of walking and window shopping, had a sweet treat at Steel City Pops, and finished the day with a yummy late lunch. It was exactly the sort of day I needed! I'm so glad that I decided to bring my camera so I could get a few pics of Syd with her grandma but need to find a better way to carry it around in the future. I have a muscle spasm in my neck and back from carrying my camera around in a shoulder bag. Boo. What's your favorite way to carry around a DSLR when out and about for several hours?

  2. I thought you made the dress, too! Super cute, no matter. What a lovely day you had. I was grumpy most of the day as all I got was a "oh yeah, happy mothers day...". PSH.

  3. They have the exact same stance while standing in the last picture, how fun! When I break out the big camera and it will be a long day of photographing I always have a backpack. I do pit other little bits in the pack, including my water bottle (Nalgene-doesn't ever leak) but I have the camera on the top in the middle. That way if there's walking and exploring to do the weight is evenly distributed on the back and shoulders. Its beat to have one with a waist strap/band as it makes for fast slinging and even more help with weight balance. When I need it I swing it around in front and pop the strap over the head, shoot, then tuck it back in. If it seems like there will be prolonged but intermittent shooting I leave the strap around my neck with the camera in the bag, bag in front. Like a baby carrier. Chic? Not so much. But it keeps the weight balanced and even takes some of the weight of the camera off your arms, and neck, as you rest them on the top of the pack while shooting.

    1. Forgive my phone spelling please :) I was going to add, I'm sure you could make a charming backpack with all your lovely fabrics.
