bynto bento

Granted, my kiddo doesn't start kindergarten for another year but I still managed to get caught up in the back to school shopping frenzy. More specifically, lunch stuff. I came across some really cool bento lunch blogs {links below}, got inspired, and had to get in on the action. I won't be making snazzy lunches everyday or anything until she heads off to kindergarten but, in the meantime; I'll have fun practicing my new "craft". That and probably buying more cute lunch stuff!

This particular lunch box is a Goodbyn Bynto. I ordered a pack of dishwasher safe stickers to go along with it and Syd and I had fun decorating. I really like the Bynto - especially since it's free of yucky chemicals some plastics contain. It's also a great size for meals on the go in the car since it fits nicely on the kiddo's lap. Oh and it's also really cute, isn't it?

  2. Thanks for sharing! Does this container leak? My girls are in 1st and 3rd grade, and I have such a tough time finding containers that don't leak!!! Very cute...you're such an awesome mama!! :-)

  3. awesome lunchbox! Now we will expect you to make lunches for Syd like that everyday! Great find. I wish I had the interest in bento but just getting the lunch packed and out the door is enough for me! I love the idea of it though!

  4. What a great post! I've been thinking about doing something like this for a few weeks now and your post came with perfect timing. I also appreciate the links to other sites for ideas. I think I might be ordering a Bynto soon. :)

  5. @Jen Aww, thanks :) I've only packed it with mostly dry foods since I'm using it in the car so I haven't tried it with things like yogurt or applesauce, etc. I did just put a little water in each compartment, put on the lid, and turned it upright...the water leaked out. I'm thinking that were it totally leakproof it would probably be really hard for little kids to open. One solution you could try is to use a smaller lidded container inside for food that could leak. Have you seen the Laptop Lunchboxes? They are pricier but have leakproof smaller containers that fit into a larger one.
